singing lessons in Troy, nh
If you can talk, you can sing. Many people love to sing whether in the shower on while listening to the radio. But if you aspire to sing beyond those two venues I can help you reach your goals. I have had students who took singing lessons because they were only able to sing two notes and students who took singing lessons and later prepared senior recitals in preparation for college. Whether you are one or the other or somewhere in between we can work together, set goals and meet them.
When taking singing lessons you will work on your breathing, placement, intonation, musicality, enunciation, style, and performance. I teach students who want to sing a variety of styles, from music theater and pop, to classical.
I have students in singing lessons from all ages in my studio and wouldn't have it any other way. I have taught students with a wide range of learning challenges and styles and enjoy the challenge of meeting the student where they are at. Generally, each student teaches me how to be a better voice teacher.
Students in singing lessons who want to learn to sing classical music will also learn to sing in French, Italian, German, and English, with proper pronunciation and interpretation. They will work on technique that will make them more versatile and make their voices bigger.
Singing lessons are just like piano lessons in one way. PRACTICE will greatly enhance your chances of becoming a better singer or pianist. Students should expect to practice at least five days per week. The amount of time for practice will vary depending on the students goals.
Annually, my studio provides two opportunities to perform in recitals. A Holiday Open House, and an annual Spring Recital. Students are not required to perform but are encouraged to explore this possibility as performance challenges them to work harder, dig deeper into the music and become a stronger singer and performer. Performance also helps students become more poised, confident and polished. Students who want to perform more than these two opportunities take part in various community programs from choirs to music theater shows.
